Mr. Spock has always been my idol. In a world of chaos, logic long ago vanished into the black hole of ignorance. It is mind boggling how even the simplest truths can be distorted under the guise of political correctness and poetic injustice.

The first absolute truth that needs to be emphasized is that not every criticism of the Jews is Anti-Semitic, not every criticism of the Muslims is anti-Islamic, and not every criticism of Blacks is racist. It often helps to actually evaluate the facts before throwing gross generalizations out there.
Al Sharpton has made a living out of the word “racism”, using it as a means of self-promotion. He has almost achieved “folk hero status” among much of the black community in New York City, with a radio show, TV appearances, constant newspaper coverage of his antics and, to add salt to the wound, politicians, e.g. Mayor De Blasio, reaching out to him for his support. Hey, Al, remember Tawana Brawley and how you destroyed the career of Steve Pagones, the New York prosecutor, who later sued you for defamation of character and “WON”. Perhaps we should mention the case of Phillip Pannell, where Teaneck police officer Gary Spath’s career was devastated! Does anyone remember a minor tax problem with the IRS, which Sharpton’s supporters apparently paid off! Get back in the hole that you crawled out of, Al. You lost a lot of weight on the outside, but no intelligent person should really believe that inside you will ever change!
How about all the ultra-Orthodox Jews in Rockland County and Brooklyn screaming “Anti-Semitism”, when the real issue is Anti-Ignorance. By not vaccinating their children, the worst epidemic of measles in two decades has spread throughout their respective communities. When New York directed the necessity of vaccinating children, the Orthodox Jewish community leaders rebelled when they should have taken responsibility for the negligent actions of their community members. The crisis escalated to the point that it became necessary to shut several ultra-Orthodox schools in order to control the epidemic. There have been over six hundred reported cases this winter of measles in these communities.
Sports Illustrated announced that the Swimsuit Issue will feature a picture of model Halma Aden in a burkini and hijab. I can’t tell you how excited SI readers must be with this news! SI has decided to “appease” the Muslim community by including Ms. Aden. Of course, it would be anti-Islamic to state that the entire idea of this photo is “offensive”. The original concept of the Swimsuit Issue was to display the beauty of various models in designer swimsuits that are “very revealing”, i.e. to emphasize the beauty of the female body, not to hide it! The idea of readers finding Ms. Aden’s outfit appropriate for this magazine is ludicrous. Ms. Aden is quite beautiful and clearly should be featured in magazines, just not the SI Swimsuit issue.

Let’s move on to the educational system! Intelligent Design vs. Evolution. Seems like we have forgotten the separation of Church & State. Some religious fanatic with a fit of brilliance decided that he/she could never sell Creationism to the school system, so “Creationism” evolved into “Intelligent Design”. As it is a given that many people that you meet on the streets have never really evolved from Cro-Magnon/ Neanderthal times, one can understand the resistance to Darwin’s Theory of Evolution. Steven Hawking stated prior to his passing that he was an agnostic, willing to be convinced of the existence of God. But since clear and convincing evidence has not been forthcoming, perhaps we can relegate the teaching of the Gospel back to Churches, Synagogues, Mosques, etc. and let our school system continue to teach Darwin’s Theory of Evolution. Long live John Thomas Scopes!!

My way of thinking was that names should be simple to remember and to pronounce for the sake of social interactions. So Naïve!! In Bangkok, Thailand this week, there was the crowning of a new monarch, King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun. I will probably be castigated for my mockery, or accused of some sort of racism or ethnicism, but really! Is there any logical explanation that a family would use a name that will never be pronounced properly by 98% of the people in the world! Could you imagine instructing Thai kids to remember the full name of the King of Thailand. They would have to spend first grade learning to pronounce the name and second grade on being taught how to spell it. But hold on for one second! His wife’s name is Srirasmi Suwadee and his prior spouse was Sujarinee Vivacharawongse. Obviously, they are serious in Thailand about making sure that no one around the globe be able to remember the names of their monarchs. No wonder Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez did not attend the coronation. No way she could learn that name and pronounce it properly during her remaining term in Congress. I guess we are fortunate in America. In school, our kids only have to memorize and learn to spell Donald John Trump and Melania Trump (born: Melanija Knavs) and Barack Hussein Obama and Michelle LaVaughn Obama. Piece of Cake!! One more comment! It may be necessary to learn one Klingon phrase when trying to pronounce the name of the new King of Thailand: nuqDaq ‘oH tach’e’ (Where’s the bar?)

The Florida legislature passed a bill on Wednesday, May 1, 2019, allowing teachers to carry firearms in the classroom. In a gut reaction to the Parkland massacre, the legislators decided this was the best way to prevent a recurrence of this horror show at another high school. The teachers would have to pass a 144-hour training course to be certified (or certifiable). President Trump and the NRA argued that this would be the “best” ‘method to prevent future incidents. A year ago, Parkland students inspired nationwide protests in favor of gun control. So the obvious response from the legislative morons was to ignore these protests while undoubtedly collecting campaign contributions from the NRA. Lets discuss the ramifications:
Upside:
(1) A teacher theoretically could stop a lunatic hellbent on a mass murder at a high school.
Downsides:
- Teacher accidentally shoots himself/herself in the foot or worse when in a state of panic upon seeing a crazy gunman in the school
- Teacher sees a stranger enter the classroom, e.g. a new custodian; a blue-collar parent in work clothes; a minority teenager in a hoodie picking up a sibling. Teacher reacts out of fear and decides to open fire.
- Teacher reacts to a loud noise, like a thunderclap, thinking it is a gunshot, pulls out the pistol which accidentally misfires, killing an innocent child.
- A teacher, who comes to school with emotional issues that have never been diagnosed, loses it and shoots himself or one of the kids.
- A teacher accidentally leaves the gun not properly secured and a student with emotional issues steals it and begins shooting.
- A police officer enters the building after spotting a potential mass murderer and accidentally shoots an armed teacher.
Downsides appear to be winning handily. A teacher is not a trained law officer or security guard!! One must wonder how the legislators will react after the first time there is an innocent victim of this new law and it will almost certainly happen!

Georgia Governor Brian Kemp signed one of the most restrictive anti-abortion bills in history, banning abortions once a fetal heartbeat is detected. This would typically occur about six weeks into pregnancy. This is the fourth state to enact this type of law. “Roe v. Wade be Damned” says the Republican Party! We will find every way to circumvent the Supreme Court ruling which basically endorses the theory “Pro-Choice”. I always found it interesting that it is primarily MEN who seem to know what is “morally right” on an issue that clearly affects women more directly. It is bad enough when Papal oratory, ultra-Orthodox Jewish Rabbinical law and Islamic Sharia law subjugate women’s rights. Now we have a right-wing Southern Governor deciding for the general public what is morally right. No doubt he will decide to become an evangelistic minister upon retirement. FAIL!

On May 1, 2019, it was reported in the NY Times that a Watertown, New York judge apparently has decided that if you only rape “one 14-year old girl”, it is insignificant and not worth “one day of jail time”. Bus driver Shane Piche was convicted of raping a girl earlier this year and pleaded guilty to third-degree rape. Judge James P. McLusky offered that since Piche had no prior arrests and that “only one victim had been involved” that his sentencing was fair. The sentence placed Mr. Piche in the lowest level of sex offenders in the NY registry. Piche will be on probation for ten years with a massive fine of $ 1425 in court fees. There is currently an-on-line petition for McClusky’s ouster. How very sad that our judicial process allows mental invalids like McLusky to be appointed as a magistrate! What a total travesty of justice! One can only imagine what is going through the mind of the girl’s parents and how this incident will impact this young lady for the rest of her life. Total disgrace! FAIL!

Enter our in-house Socialist Bernie Sanders and his most recent insanity! He is convinced that it is in the best interests of our country to allow “all prisoners” to have the right to vote! Wow, what a great idea! We can let convicted terrorists, e.g. Ted Kaczynski, “the Unabomber”, vote for candidates that oppose capital punishment (Ted pleaded his way out anyway). This will allow white collar criminals, e.g. Bernie Madoff, to vote for candidates with Wall Street background who might appreciate the ingenuity of his Ponzi scheme. Lifers can vote for socialist candidates that believe that “everyone can be rehabilitated” in the hopes of future parole. Prisoners with mental illness can vote for candidates who might release them to mental institutions where it may be easier to escape. Convicted rapists can vote for politicians who have sexually harassed women in the past (seems to be a plethora of that group this year) in the hopes of leniency. It will certainly appeal to minority prisoners, who believe that the system is prejudiced against them, even if they actually committed the crimes. They can vote for the Louis Farrakhans of the world. Prisoners who committed hate crimes can vote for KKK candidates, e.g. David Duke, in the hopes they might receive some sympathy.
Maybe I’m the one who is crazy, but I believe Democracy will survive without their votes. It is unclear whether Democracy will survive Bernie Sanders.
