Mr. Spock has always been my idol.\u00a0 In a world of chaos, logic long ago vanished into the black hole of ignorance.\u00a0 Leonard Nimoy, aka Spock, would be turning over in his grave if he read the New York Times on any given day in 2019.\u00a0\u00a0 It is mind boggling how even the simplest truths can be distorted under the guise of political correctness and poetic injustice.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The first absolute truth that needs to be emphasized<\/em><\/strong><\/span> is that not every criticism of the Jews is Anti-Semitic, not every criticism of the Muslims is anti-Islamic, and not every criticism of Blacks is racist. It often helps to actually evaluate the facts before throwing gross generalizations out there.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Al Sharpton has made a living out of the word \u201cracism\u201d, using it as a means of self-promotion.\u00a0 He has almost achieved \u201cfolk hero status\u201d among much of the black community in New York City, with a radio show, TV appearances, constant newspaper coverage of his antics and, to add salt to the wound, politicians, e.g. Mayor De Blasio, reaching out to him for his support.\u00a0\u00a0 Hey, Al, remember Tawana Brawley and how you destroyed the career of Steve Pagones, the New York prosecutor, who later sued you for defamation of character and \u201cWON\u201d. \u00a0Perhaps we should mention the case of Phillip Pannell, where Teaneck police officer Gary Spath\u2019s career was devastated!\u00a0 Does anyone remember a minor tax problem with the IRS, which Sharpton\u2019s supporters apparently paid off!\u00a0 Get back in the hole that you crawled out of, Al.\u00a0 You lost a lot of weight on the outside, but no intelligent person should really believe that inside you will ever change!<\/strong><\/p>\n

How about all the ultra-Orthodox Jews in Rockland County and Brooklyn screaming \u201cAnti-Semitism\u201d, when the real issue is Anti-Ignorance.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 By not vaccinating their children, the worst epidemic of measles in two decades has spread throughout their respective communities. When New York directed the necessity of vaccinating children, the Orthodox Jewish community leaders rebelled when they should have taken responsibility for the negligent actions of their community members. \u00a0The crisis escalated to the point that it became necessary to shut several ultra-Orthodox schools in order to control the epidemic. \u00a0\u00a0There have been over six hundred reported cases<\/em> this winter of measles in these communities.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sports Illustrated announced that the Swimsuit Issue will feature a picture of model Halma Aden in a burkini and hijab<\/em><\/span>.\u00a0 I can\u2019t tell you how excited SI readers must be with this news! \u00a0\u00a0SI has decided to \u201cappease\u201d the Muslim community by including Ms. Aden.\u00a0 Of course, it would be anti-Islamic to state that the entire idea of this photo is \u201coffensive\u201d.\u00a0 The original concept of the Swimsuit Issue was to display the beauty of various models in designer swimsuits that are \u201cvery revealing\u201d, i.e. to emphasize the beauty of the female body, not to hide it!\u00a0\u00a0 The idea of readers finding Ms. Aden\u2019s outfit appropriate for this magazine is ludicrous.\u00a0\u00a0 Ms. Aden is quite beautiful and clearly should be featured in magazines, just not the SI Swimsuit issue.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Let\u2019s move on to the educational system!\u00a0\u00a0 Intelligent Design vs. Evolution<\/em>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0 Seems like we have forgotten the separation of Church & State. Some religious fanatic with a fit of brilliance decided that he\/she could never sell Creationism to the school system, so \u201cCreationism\u201d evolved into \u201cIntelligent Design\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0 As it is a given that many people that you meet on the streets have never really evolved from Cro-Magnon\/ Neanderthal times, one can understand the resistance to Darwin\u2019s Theory of Evolution.\u00a0\u00a0 Steven Hawking stated prior to his passing that he was an agnostic, willing to be convinced of the existence of God.\u00a0\u00a0 But since clear and convincing evidence has not been forthcoming, perhaps we can relegate the teaching of the Gospel back to Churches, Synagogues, Mosques, etc. and let our school system continue to teach Darwin\u2019s Theory of Evolution. Long live John Thomas Scopes!!<\/strong><\/p>\n

================================================================== \u00a0When I studied American history many years ago, I reflected that names like King Kamehameha or Queen Liliuokalani were long and difficult to pronounce properly.\u00a0\u00a0 My way of thinking was that names should be simple to remember and to pronounce for the sake of social interactions.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 So Na\u00efve!! In Bangkok, Thailand this week, there was the crowning of a new monarch, King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun.\u00a0 I will probably be castigated for my mockery, or accused of some sort of racism or ethnicism, but really!\u00a0 Is there any logical explanation that a family would use a name that will never be pronounced properly by 98% of the people in the world!\u00a0\u00a0 Could you imagine instructing Thai kids to remember the full name of the King of Thailand.\u00a0 They would have to spend first grade learning to pronounce the name and second grade on being taught how to spell it.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/em>But hold on for one second!\u00a0 His wife\u2019s name is Srirasmi Suwadee<\/a> and his prior spouse was \u00a0Sujarinee Vivacharawongse<\/a>.\u00a0 Obviously, they are serious in Thailand about making sure that no one around the globe be able to remember the names of their monarchs.\u00a0\u00a0 No wonder Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez did not attend the coronation.\u00a0 No way she could learn that name and pronounce it properly during her remaining term in Congress.\u00a0 I guess we are fortunate in America.\u00a0 In school, our kids only have to memorize and learn to spell Donald John Trump and Melania Trump (born: Melanija Knavs) and Barack Hussein Obama and Michelle LaVaughn Obama.\u00a0 Piece of Cake!! One more comment!\u00a0 It may be necessary to learn one Klingon phrase when trying to pronounce the name of the new King of Thailand: nuqDaq \u2018oH tach\u2019e\u2019 (Where’s the bar?)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Florida legislature passed a bill on Wednesday, May 1, 2019, allowing teachers to carry firearms in the classroom.\u00a0 In a gut reaction to the Parkland massacre, the legislators decided this was the best way to prevent a recurrence of this horror show at another high school.\u00a0\u00a0 The teachers would have to pass a 144-hour training course to be certified (or certifiable).\u00a0\u00a0 President Trump and the NRA<\/span><\/em> argued that this would be the \u201cbest\u201d \u2018method to prevent future incidents.\u00a0\u00a0 A year ago, Parkland students inspired nationwide protests in favor of gun control.\u00a0 So the obvious response from the legislative morons was to ignore these protests while undoubtedly collecting campaign contributions from the NRA.\u00a0\u00a0 Lets discuss the ramifications:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0(1) A teacher theoretically could stop a lunatic hellbent on a mass murder at a high school.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n
