About

IMG_1598Howard Pearl, Executive Director of CARENET, Inc., an eldercare management firm, based in Hackensack, NJ is a graduate of Cornell University with post-graduate work in health care administration at Columbia University.

With over thirty-five years as a licensed health care administrator in the State of New Jersey, Howard was one of the first health care professionals to recognize the need for crisis intervention for the elderly. He established CARENET, Inc. with the goal of creating a comprehensive database of information, to provide institutions and families with a one-stop hub for information to assist the elderly with any crisis, including but not limited to financial management; estate planning; Medicare and Medicaid regulations; and Eldercare services in their community.

For the past twenty-five years, Howard has been deeply involved with charitable institutions as a Trustee of the Community Resource Council of Bergen County and Chairman of the Health Care Advisory Committee, which has been providing charitable services to seniors, disabled individuals and families in crisis since 1933.

Howard has been a keynote speaker on Eldercare Management at hospitals, senior citizen and community groups in New Jersey and has helped educate the public on how to navigate the challenges of health care services for seniors.

And for more than a decade, Howard has proudly served as a volunteer coach in the Fort Lee Community, coaching soccer, basketball, little league, Babe Ruth baseball, and softball.  Howard has three children ages 19, 16, and 11 and is currently the Director/Coordinator of the fundraising group for the athletic programs at Fort Lee High School.

When the Patch was launched several years, the founding editor, Erik Wander, invited Howard to become one of the first online bloggers and they developed a strong interactive relationship. “Pearls of Wisdom” went on to become one the most popular Fort Lee Patch blogs and has established a loyal following.

Blog topics have covered everything from critiques of local politics, to the Fort Lee Board of Education and local sporting events. Howard features everything from new local businesses and local events and gives a “shout-out” to outstanding individuals in the Fort Lee community.

On a more general note, Howard offers his highly-charged insights on national politicians, which include using Al Sharpton, Chris Christie and Bill DeBlasio as target practice.   Occasionally, a movie review will pop up in his blog as well. There is no subject “verboten” in “Pearls of Wisdom”, which appears to satisfy the thirst of his followers!

Howard is now looking forward to taking the next step and transitioning from the Fort Lee Patch to this personal blog featured here in the hope that he can reach a mor diverse readership. While Howard intends to remain focused on Fort Lee, he believes that there are many national topics that need a little humor and a little attitude injected into them. Hopefully, pearlsofwisdom.guru will continue to inspire his readers to join him in becoming passionate and indignant over political avarice and injustice, while amusing them with an occasional anecdote about some ludicrous incident around the globe.

To quote Aldous Huxley “Brave New World”.
